Winterfest 2023

Hello everyone!

This email should include everything you need to know about registration for Winterfest 2023. For those who don’t know, Winterfest is an annual youth ministry conference in Gatlinburg, TN. Students will stay in a local hotel, have some time to explore the city, and participate in worship sessions that will include singing, keynote speakers, entertainment, and more.

Details about logistics will be available closer to when we leave. The dates for Winterfest are February 17-19, and the cost will be $125 per student with a $10 sibling discount per sibling (1st child is $125, second is $115, third is $105, etc…). Students will also need to bring money to pay for 2 meals in Gatlinburg. As usual, we will have full and partial scholarships available. We never want money to be the reason a student is unable to attend. I’m still waiting to receive the contract from the hotel which will impact our registration deadline. I’ll let you all know the deadline as soon as I have it, but to be safe I’d recommend registering your student as soon as possible.

The cost for chaperones will be $100 for a chaperone that is not sharing a room with students and $50 for a chaperone that is sharing a room with students. Here’s how that works:

High school students are allowed to be in a hotel room without a chaperone as long as they have parental permission. High school students will still have a chaperone assigned to them that will be responsible for keeping track of their whereabouts and ensuring they are where they are supposed to be when they are supposed to be there.

Middle school students are required to be in a room with a chaperone. It is also LYF policy that students do not share beds with adults that are not their parents. For this reason the first adults asked to be chaperones will be parents of a middle school student of the same gender (a father of a middle school boy or mother of a middle school girl). If this describes you and you are interested in chaperoning please let me know! This helps ensure that we are able to fill every hotel room and keep the cost as low as possible.
