LYF Update October 2024
September Recap
LYF in September has been a blast! Our Wednesday team competition is going strong with the red team taking an early lead. Big thanks to the Newby’s and the Clemmons’ for hosting Jesus Practice this month. At the Newby’s we learned to sit with a text long enough to be able to summarize it in our own words (and we may have also ridden Go-Karts in their backyard). At the Clemmons’ we learned to put emphasis on each individual word of a passage of scripture and see how that specific word impacts the verse. Another highlight from September was our paint war. This was our first paint war since 2022 and it was as much fun as I can ever remember us ever having at a LYF event since I’ve been the youth minister. We had a paint slip n’ slide and played 9 square with paint as well as having a “color war” with color powder. Looking ahead to October there is much less on the calendar due to Fall Break, but I’m going to be trying to organize some LYF outings to students’ games and concerts. Be on the lookout for more details about those outings!
