October Recap

October is usually a lighter month for LYF activities due to Fall Break, but we’re excited to pick things back up as we close out the Fall. I can’t believe it’s almost November already. October isn’t quite over yet though! We’ve still got Trunk or Treat and a costume contest at youth group on Wednesday 10/30! My ministry highlight of October was surprising Namwija with a birthday cake at Jesus Practice back on Sunday 10/20! I also wnat to give a shoutout to Clara and Coy Tomlinson for all the good work they’ve been doing with the LYF instagram. Follow @laurelyouth if you don’t already! I’m super excited for Fall Retreat! It’s one of my favorite trips of the year, because it is just LYF with no other groups. This provides ample opportunity to connect with one another and practice solitude.

November Dates

Wednesdays

  • 11/6: Student Led Wednesday

  • 11/13: Roots

  • 11/20: 4 for 30

  • 11/27: No Youth Group

11/3 - Jesus Practice: 5:30-8:00 at the White’s. Dinner provided. Last practice of Fall series on scripture based practices.

11/10 - Game Night: 5:30-8:00 at Laurel! Will have pizza for dinner.

11/22-24 - Fall Retreat:At Smoky Mountain Christian Camp. Registration deadline is Sunday 11/10. $85 includes meals, lodging, and t-shirt. Theme is friendship.
