December Recap
LYF really closed out 2025 with a bang! This is the first newsletter since our 2024 Fall Retreat, which I said at the parent meeting was possibly the best thing we’ve ever done as a ministry. The theme was “deep friendships,” and we learned about and practiced different attitudes to adopt in order to go deeper in our friendships with one another. These attitudes are 1) believe the best 2) curiosity 3) vulnerability 4) investment. It was so awesome watching students practices these attitudes together. I’m prayerfully considering how we can take what took place on the fall retreat and make it a regular part of our ministry culture. December also included our Christmas party. We had so many students that we had to split up the middle and high school groups in order to play our white elephant game. One lucky student ended up with a pet fish courtesy of Jonas Newby. We also concluded our team game challenge. Congrats to the green team for winning! A final highlight from December was seeing how our students and families stepped up in service by helping with Christmas basket assembly. We completed what we thought would take 2 hours in about 45 minutes. Our students are awesome.
