LYF This Week 5/22-28
Summer is here! That means there’s a lot going on this week!…and every week….for the next 10 weeks….So these weekly updates are gonna be super important for everyone wanting tot stay on top of everything LYF has going on. I’d recommend bookmarking the LYF home page so you’re only ever a few clicks/touches away from the most recent update.
Here’s what’s going on with LYF this week!
Interns are here!: Our interns have arrived! Our students got to know Ilex and Caden a little bit yesterday, and we look forward to having them around for what should be an awesome summer! We still need some volunteers to host them for dinner on a Tuesday night over the summer. Click here to access the google doc where you can sign up to host. You can also sign up to host either the MS or HS Devos or provide dinner for LYF over the summer.
Intern Retreat: The interns and I (Trey) will be away in Townsend for a spiritual retreat Monday-Tuesday to start our summer off with time of prayer, fellowship, meditation, solitude, bible study, etc…Kimberlin will be joining us on Tuesday. We’d appreciate your prayers that our time together would be fruitful for setting the tone/direction for the summer. Pray
Student Info Sheets: We’d love to have every student fill out a student info sheet by this Wednesday. Every student who does so will be entered into a drawing to win a $25 Amazon Gift Card. Click here to access the form.
Summer Kick off Party - 5/24: Wednesday 5/24 at 5:30 will be our summer kickoff party. We’ll have a cookout and play some games before a brief devotional introducing our summer theme. We will be done with our devotional by 8, but students will be welcome to continue hanging out until as late as 9. We’ll also pass out our summer t-shirts at this time. Human Scavenger Hunt - 5/26: Our annual human scavenger hunt event will be Friday 5/26 at West Town Mall from 5:30-7:30. Students will split up into teams and search the mall for adult church members dressed in disguises. Our plan is for the youth group to have dinner together in the food court before our scavenger hunt and for everyone to have dessert together afterwards. Students should bring $ for dinner and dessert. Click here to register.
Devo at Trey’s House - 5/28: There will be a devotional at Trey’s house on Sunday 5/28 from 5-7. We’ll roast hot dogs around the fire for dinner. We’ll also have s’mores. Click here to register.
