LYF Service Day
Hey everyone! Here’s the plan for our service day on Easter Monday 4/18 (and how you can help even if you aren’t able to attend).
Our plan is to meet at Laurel on Monday morning at 10:00am. We will spend the morning assembling care packages for the homeless. These will be for you all to keep in your cars, so that you can have something helpful to offer an unhoused person whenever you happen to encounter them. We’re asking you all to help by bringing items for these care packages to church Wednesday 4/13, Sunday 4/17, or Monday 4/18.
Here’s a list of things we need to assemble our care packages.
Gallon Zip-Lock Bags
Bottles of Water.
Non perishable, individually packaged food (tuna and crackers, protein bars, peanut butter crackers, dried fruits, trail mix, beef jerky, etc….)
Sunscreen and/or Aloe Vera
Nail Clippers
Large Bandages
Individually Wrapped Wet Wipes
Light socks for the summer
Tissues
Toothbrush/Toothpaste
Please click here to register for the event and/or let us know what you plan on bringing.
Once we’re done assembling our care packages we will have lunch together. After this our plan is to either 1) Go visit residents in a local nursing home or 2) Visit some of Laurel’s shut-in elderly members. We’re still working out the details, but we will plan on being back at Laurel for pick up by 3:00pm.
