Mike Taylor

Mike has been serving in worship ministry since college, completing his undergraduate studies in Music Education at Austin Peay State University in 1995. He met his wife Cindy in college and was married in 1996. He then taught as a high school band and choir director in Sumner County for four years before moving to UT Knoxville in 2000 to complete his Masters in Music Composition. Mike joined the worship ministry staff at Laurel in 2003 and helped develop Laurel’s worship teams and A/V Ministry, which helped bring Laurel’s singing up-to-date, encouraging a balance of traditional and contemporary a cappella worship. Mike briefly served as a music director at Johnson University and has worked as a technical writer and administrative coordinator. When time allows, he also enjoys arranging for Acappella’s Praise and Harmony series and playing saxophone just for fun with the Laurel House Band. Mike and Cindy are the parents of Will, Sam, and Julia and look forward to making a positive eternal difference, glorifying God with our lives and voices.
