John B. Waters III

John Waters is one of Laurel’s newest elders, having been installed in February of 2019. John was born and raised in Sevier County, Tennessee. He graduated from the University of Tennessee and then Georgetown Law School in Washington, D.C. John has been practicing law in Knoxville for 37 years, and he is a founding member of his firm, Long, Ragsdale & Waters, P.C. John is married to Beth Horn Waters who has been affiliated with Laurel all of her life. They have two sons (now grown men). Alexander is an attorney in Knoxville practicing with his father. Spencer is a Captain in the Marine Corps, flying Harriers. Spencer and his wife Nicole have the Waters only grandchild so far, Anna Opal.
