LYF Update November 20223
October Highlights
Due to Fall Break, October is usually a more “toned down” month for LYF. We don’t have as many events, which I enjoy, because we get to lean into the rhythms of our typical weekly programs. In October, small groups have been seeking Jesus together on Sunday nights, and on Wednesday nights we’ve been enjoying our team competitions, time in worship, and learning about God’s love for us. My personal highlight from October has been seeing how students have been responding to our invitation to ask tough questions, both on Sundays and Wednesdays. Event-wise we did have a bonfire at the Russells which was really fun for those who could make it! Much thanks to them for hosting! We also had LYF make three different trunks for trunk or treat.
November Events
11/5: Salt Meeting
The Salt team will meet from 3:30-4:30 before our small groups at the church building.
11/7: Rake-a-palooza
Students are out of school, so we plan on serving by raking the lawns of our church members. Meet at Laurel at 8:30am, bring gloves and a bagged lunch. Wear clothes toed shoes and warm clothes. We should be done by around 3:30.
11/15: 4 for 30 Wednesday
30 minutes to eat, 30 minutes to serve, 30 minutes to connect with one another, and 30 minutes to connect with God. Dinner is provided!
11/17-19: Fall Retreat
At Smoky Mountain Christian Camp. Cost is $75. Will spend time fellowshipping, worshipping, learning about silence/solitude, and practicing silence and solitude. We’ll also have some team competitions and enjoy some fun things at the camp...giant swing, rock wall, low ropes course, etc...Cost includes all meals, lodging, and a t-shirt!
Other Things To be Aware of:
1) Stickers for sale! We have LYF themed stickers for sale for $1 each.
2) Keychains for free! We have keychains with a LYF website QR code available for anyone who wants one. This way you are always a quick scan away from all the most recent LYF info.
3) Save these dates 2024!
1/7: Commitment Deadline for Hawaii Mission Trip. $300 Deposit Due.
2/16-18: Winterfest
5/24-27: Camp LYF
6/14-17: Impact JR. (Middle School)
6/17-22: Impact Sr. (High School)
7/10-21: Hawaii Mission Trip (High School)
