LYF Update June 2024
May Recap
May is always when things start really picking up for LYF as we transition out of the school year and into the Summer. Back on 5/5 we had our graduation banquet to honor our graduating seniors. Congratulations graduates! Our interns Caden Courtney and Melanie Guyette arrived Sunday 5/19, and we spent that week getting ready for camp, which was over Memorial Weekend. Camp was probably my ministry highlight of the year so far. We had so much fun together at Smoky Mountain Christian Camp while also going deeper into our summer theme. For those who don’t know, LYF Summer 2024 is the “Weirdo” tour. Summer 2024 will be all about how we can be different/weird and stand out for Jesus. Our summer t-shirts are finally here, and we have extra available for purchase for $20. Anyone who registered for a shirt but has not yet received one should let me know. May had some huge events that couldn’t have happened without a ton of help from a bunch of different people, so big thanks to everyone who helped out! There’s not enough space here to list everyone, but please know you are very much appreciated!

6/5, 6/12, 6/26 - Summer Wednesdays : On these dates we’ll have open gym at 4:30. Dinner will be provided at 6:00, and Youth Group will be from 6:45-8:00pm. We’ll still meet on Wednesday 6/19 but will not have open gym or dinner.
6/2 - Jesus Practice at the Cathey’s 5:30-8:00. Dinner Provided. We’ll fellowship, eat, and learn some practices to help us with this week’s “weirdo challenge”
6/7 - Serve Justlead Carnival Day : Lyf is hosting a carnival for Justlead students. Bring a sack lunch, and be there at 11:00am to help set up. The Carnival will be from 1-2:30, and pickup will be at 3:00.
6/9 - Jesus Practice at the Keim’s: 6:00-8:30. Dinner Provided. We’ll fellowship, eat, and learn some practices to help us with this week’s “weirdo challenge”
6/17-22 - IMPACT:
6/28 - Serve Justlead Water Day : Lyf is hosting a water day for Justlead students. Bring a sack lunch, and be there at 11:00am to help set up. The Carnival will be from 1-2:30, and pickup will be at 3:00.
6/29 - Lake Day: We’ll be spending the afternoon out on the Lain’s Houseboat. We’ll meet at 1:00pm at the Choto Marina and be back around sunset (weather permitting). Students should eat lunch before showing up at the marina, but dinner will be provided.
6/30 - Jesus Practice and Pool Party at the Russell’s: 5:30-8:00. Dinner Provided. We’ll swim, eat, and learn some practices to help us with this week’s “weirdo challenge.”
