LYF Update 5/18/22
Hello everyone! Graduation Sunday was this past Sunday, and we presented our graduates with their notebooks full of letters from members of our congregation. If you didn't get the chance to write any of our graduates a letter for their notebook but would still like to write them let me know and I can give you their mailing address.
Summer Survey
As we gear up for a busy summer we want to know what kinds of things your students would like to see LYF do this summer. I made a quick survey that I'd recommend students fill out sometime before the end of the week. The interns and I will use the students input to plan our summer calendar on the intern retreat, which will be Monday and Tuesday of next week. We'll give out the summer calendar at the summer kick off party next Wednesday 5/25. Here's a link to the survey. https://laurelcc.breezechms.com/form/a1d120
Interns!
Our interns will be here this coming Sunday 5/22, and we want to make sure we give them a very warm welcome. The plan is to present them with a welcome basket full of some of their favorite snacks, gift cards to some of their favorite fast food restaurants, and some gas cards. If every family that reads this update could contribute $10, we'd be able to double how much we gave them last year. You can give online through breeze or by bringing cash/check to me or Kimberlin. Here's a link to give via breeze. Make sure you give to "LYF" https://laurelcc.breezechms.com/give/internal
Summer Kick-Off Party
Our Summer Kick-Off party will be next Wednesday 5/25 at 6 until everyone has to leave. There will be plenty of food and fun. Our Summer Kick-Off party will also be the first event for our new 6th grade students, so we will dedicate some time to introducing them. I'm really looking forward to our summer kick off! I think it will be a ton of fun and will really set the tone for an awesome summer together.
LYF Mentors
Speaking of the 6th graders....We're beginning to make plans for current LYF members to be mentors to our incoming 6th graders. If any of your students would like to be a mentor please let me or Kimberlin know. Since we're promoting the 6th graders at the beginning of the summer this year, we are having an orientation time for them and their parents this coming Friday at Laurel from 6-8. If any students that are planning on being a mentor are available this coming Friday night we'd love for them to join us so they can start making connections.
