LYF The Rest of The Summer

Hey y’all! Here’s some info about everything going on the rest of the Summer.

7/26 - Last Summer Wednesday: This upcoming Wednesday will be our last Wednesday with open gym and dinner provided before getting back to our school year schedule. Open gym starts at 4:30. Dinner is served at 6:00. Youth group starts at 6:45. Big thanks to Sherri Guyette for providing our dinner!

7/28 - End of Summer Trip: Friday July 28th we’ll be whitewater rafting on the Ocoee River with High Country Adventures. The cost will be $25 per student. The first 20 students to register and pay will be guaranteed a spot. Students must be at least 12 years old to participate. Our plan will be to meet at Laurel at 12:30 to leave. This is a slight change from the original plan of leaving at 1:00. This is because High Country Adventures is asking us to arrive 30 minutes before our start time. Students will need to eat before arriving and will need to bring $ for dinner. We will be back Friday evening around 10:00pm. Click here to register.

7/30 - Devo at the Martin’s - Interns Last Event: Sunday July 30th from 5-8 we will have a devo/pool party at the home of the Martin’s. Dinner will be provided. This will also be the last event for the interns before they head home. We’ll spend a little bit of time encouraging them before presenting them with a parting gift. Click here to register so the Martins can know how much food to provide.

8/6 - Back to School Prayer and Worship Night: Sunday August 6 from 6-7:30 we’ll have an evening of prayer and worship to prepare our hearts to go back to school. The Salt team will meet before from 4:00-5:30. Anyone interested in joining the Salt team should contact Trey or Kimberlin.

Big News! Potential Lock-In! Dates TBD: Ever since I took over as youth minister students have been clamoring for us to have a lock-in. On our Albany trip I made a deal with the students that we could have a lock in under 2 conditions. 1) If we can get at least 50 students signed up and 2) If we can get at least 10 chaperones signed up. First things first I’m posting a poll to determine a date. Students can click here to vote in this poll. Students can and should vote for multiple options. Once a date is determined I’ll send out a registration form for both students and chaperones, and we’ll see if we can get to 50 and 10. As much as I love my sleep I’m rooting for our students to pull this off!
